He Through Whom We Return to Youﷺ

O Allah – to You do we belong and certain is our return to You

So turn to us, till we turn to You and our singular concern is You
Turn to us till our every sin is burned in You
Turn to us till our every limb yearns for You
Amend our hearts until our hearts return to You
And our hearts return to You
Amend our eyes and tongues, until our eyes and tongues return to You
And our eyes and tongues return to You
Amend our intellects and hearing, until our intellects and hearing return to You
And our intellects and hearing return to You
Amend our words and deeds until our words and deeds return to You
And our words and deeds return to You
O Allah – by heﷺ whom was sent as a reminder to return to You
Bless heﷺ who we pray we are united with upon our return to You
On that Day when Mankind and Jinns return to You
On that Day when the stars and celestial spheres return to You
On that Day when the mountains and valleys return to You
On that Day when the oceans, lakes and rivers return to You
On that Day when the trees, flowers and earth return to You
On that Day when clay and fire return to You
O Allah – heﷺ who is our only means in this life for our return to You
Confer Your peace and blessings upon himﷺ as we turn to You
In this moment, and make every moment be our return to You
Heﷺ through whom we heard Word from the True
Messenger of the Unseen and the Unheardﷺ from He who Knows and Knew
Who is now as He was and He Knows now as He Always Knew
The Infinite, True, showering our hearts like morning dew
On dry blades of grass, coloring the hearts with a thousand hues
We turn to Him, through Muhammadﷺ, with whose arrival dawn broke through
Nay, he IS the dawnﷺ, he is the shining Sun from which true belief grewﷺ
He is the presence into which every Saint withdrewﷺ
And returned to say, “through Muhammadﷺ, O Allah, I have returned to You”
O Allah – by he upon who the loftiest rights are dueﷺ
Convey Your utmost blessings and peace from us, by You
In You is our trust and our everlasting return is to You
So wash our hearts with the waters of acceptance as we turn to You
And turn not Your Pleasure away from us until we return to You
– Lounès, In Praise of the Prophet ﷺ

Inspired by the great Algerian Gnostic and lover of the Beloved Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, Shaykh Muhammad al-Qandusi, may Allah be pleased with him, whose beautiful Maghribi calligraphic piece of the Majestic Name still adorns the walls of Moulay Idriss II in Fes, Morocco, to this day, and the rest of North Africa, and Muslim world.
